Ceilings, walls, and high surfaces
- Dust ceiling tiles, exposed ductwork, and beams
- Clean light fixtures, lenses, and ceiling fans
- HEPA vacuum or wipe HVAC vents, grilles, and diffusers
- Wipe walls to remove dust, scuffs, and fingerprints
- Spot clean paint splatter from trim, outlets, and switch plates
Windows, doors, and glass
- Remove labels, paint, and adhesive from glass
- Clean interior windows, partitions, and glass doors streak free
- Vacuum and wipe window tracks and door tracks
- Wipe door frames, hinges, handles, and kick plates
Cabinets, counters, and built ins
- Vacuum then damp wipe the inside and outside of all cabinets and drawers
- Clean countertops and remove caulk or adhesive residue
- Wipe shelving, millwork, and reception desks
- Clean appliances inside and out, including new refrigerators and microwaves
Restrooms
- Clean and disinfect toilets, urinals, sinks, and faucets
- Remove grout haze and dust from tile walls and floors
- Polish mirrors, partitions, and stainless fixtures
- Wipe dispensers and hand dryers and confirm they are stocked
Floors
- HEPA vacuum carpet thoroughly, including edges and corners
- Sweep and damp mop hard floors, then repeat if dust returns
- Remove paint, grout, and adhesive spots from tile, vinyl, and concrete
- Scrub or machine clean hard floors if a protective finish is planned
- Clean baseboards and floor transitions last
Phase 3: touch up clean checklist (before move in)
Even after a thorough final clean, dust keeps settling for several days as air systems cycle and the last furniture deliveries arrive. A touch up clean right before opening is what makes the space feel truly new.
- Dust all horizontal surfaces again, including newly installed furniture
- Wipe fingerprints from glass, doors, and elevator panels
- Vacuum and mop floors one final time
- Clean up packaging left from furniture and equipment installs
- Do a final walkthrough with the property manager or contractor
